Compared to the past 4 toasters that I have agonizingly bought and thrown in a span of a couple of months, this has definitely got to be the best. Yet, compared to the good old days when a toaster could last our grandmothers for at least 25 years, Oster Counterforms 6335 toaster could still do with a few changes here and there.

After using it, I agree with some of the toaster reviews by other buyers of Oster Counterforms 6335 Toaster.

Check out these Oster Counterforms toaster advantages:

  1. This toaster delivers good, uniform and even toast. There are many settings for light or dark toast so you can have your perfect coloured toast.
  2. Made from stainless steel, it is naturally cool to touch which makes our jobs as moms easier! Cleaning is a breeze since the stainless steel does not show fingerprints. A wipe will suffice. Plus, no burning or scalding kitchen accidents!
  3. Where else can you get such a futuristic shape? If your kitchen has a modern design, this toaster will feel right at home. Its funky shape, colour and style are a perfect setting for a larger family. It also matches other stainless steel kitchen appliances as well. The adorable buttons have blue back lighting to them as well. Fashion smack in a kitchen? This is your answer 
*A note of caution; taste might differ, so those who are into antique furniture may not want this toaster on their list.
  4. Craving a big helping? This toaster with its ‘extra long’ and wide slots lets you toast a variety of bread products such as rye loaves, bagels, and particularly Texas toast. Want a huge thick chunk of bread? No problem. Utilize the wide slots! Even shorter pieces won’t stickup out of the toaster with the extra lift.
  5. Feel free to explore the many operation settings. I love the loads of options especially features like frozen waffle, bagel buttons in addition to the normal toast, defrost, pastry and warm. These settings let you toast just about anything. I’ve tried English Muffins with it too and it warms it perfectly. If you’re a new Mum, these settings relieve you from the burden of guessing the configuration for each and everything that you toast. No sweat!
  6. Oh, worried about abandoned mouldy toast? Fret no more. The end of cycle alarm should be more than a good reminder.

Too good to be true?

Well, some other toaster users and I do have a few complaints:

  1. I did say that this toaster delivers good, uniform and even toast. However, some regular toaster users’ complaint is that this uniform toast might not always be consistent from one toasting to the next even if the adjustment is not touched. A scale from 3 to 4 goes from light to burn toast. Too drastic, perhaps? As a matter of fact, one side is always darker than the other. There are also times when some areas are toasted and some aren’t even if they’re on the same side of the toast. However, don’t be turned off so fast! Different users have different views. Maybe the dial, which selects how the toast will be done, will suit you perfectly.
  2. While the ulterior looks sleek and professional, the handle/activation arm is the complete opposite! It doesn’t just look cheap. It’s flimsy and loose as well. Having used different toasters for years, my conviction is that it will break after some time. True, it hasn’t broken and hasn’t caused any actual problems as of yet, but as a fashion conscious mom, I feel that this handle is ill at ease with the beefy size of this toaster. Some other customers seem to complain that the top of the plastic shell is melting but I have not had that trouble. This seems to be more of an exception, I suspect.Another complaint that other users seem to have is that the buttons do not work as specified in the manual. For instance, the manual says push the Frozen button first, then the toast button but the Frozen light does not come on until the toast button is pushed. Another example is when the warm function continues toasting the bread when the manual says that it is just to maintain the toast at the current heat. Personally, I don’t think this is a big drawback. After all, by experimenting here and there, you’ll be able to get the toaster to work for you and not against you!
  3. The end of cycle alarm that rings after the toast is done is quite helpful if you’re forgetful. Nevertheless, you might find it terribly loud and obnoxious. To be honest, I don’t find it offensive but if you’re a pet lover, this might scare them away during meal times.
  4. While I love the shape of the toaster and the fact that it beautifies my kitchen, this may not be the case for those who are tight on space on the counter or for those who dislike bulkiness clustering the kitchen. The additional downside is that the cord is very short so unless you have a nearby electrical source, buying this toaster might not be a good idea.
  5. ‘Retoasting’ might need some supervision at the beginning. I feel that once you’ve gotten the hang of this toaster, you won’t have the problem of monitoring and putting the dial higher or lower. A bit of patience may go a long way, don’t you think?

Good toaster reviews and 6 otherwise. Very difficult to make a decision, isn’t it? On the surface, it might not seem like a good buy. Yet, the disadvantages are really minor grievances by different parties. Remember, though, there are always exceptions to electrical products such as toasters. Oster Counterforms 6335 is not an exception. Occasionally, there might be cases when the buttons on the toaster fail to work after 10 days, or when the toaster stops working after a brief period of usage. It does not occur just with this toaster. It can happen to just about any kind of toaster as well.

So, if you’re a creative kitchen-designer in the making, a big eater, a toaster lover, an innovative cook, I say, buy this toaster. You might have your preference like having the crumb tray pulled from the front instead of the back, but then again, this is all about an adjustment of preferences and views, perhaps?

As for me, I’m getting rid of my pricey Cuisinart and keeping this Oster Counterforms 6335 Toaster!

How, exactly, does “funky shape, colour and style are a perfect setting for a larger family?”

Are larger families, generally funkier in nature? Does this toaster’s color make it stand out, and therefore it’s easier to find amongst large families, where smaller families’ toasters have more difficulty concealing themselves (amongst a fewer number of persons)? Does the ability to efficiently operate a rhomboideqsue electrical appliance decrease with an increasing number and proximity of other persons?
